QPR have moved closer to the signature of Chelsea's transfer-listed defender Alex.

The R's had a bid turned down for the Brazilian international earlier in the week but they have now look to have reached an agreement with the Blues.
Mark Hughes must now convince the 29-year-old to join Loftus Road amid reports he wishes to move away from England.
Chelsea signed Alex from Santos in 2004 but work-permit issues saw him loaned to PSV Eindhoven for three seasons before he joined his parent club in the summer of 2007.
He has made 87 appearances for the Blues but handed in a transfer request in December last year after losing his starting place to fellow Brazilian David Luiz.
The news come less than 24 hours after Gary Cahill travelled to London to complete the formalities of his move from Bolton.
Bolton accepted Chelsea's £7m bid for the 26-year-old nearly two weeks ago but negotiating personal terms has been a lengthy process.
