Rovers clinch Modeste loan

Blackburn Rovers have signed French forward Anthony Modeste on loan from Ligue 1 side Bordeaux.

Modeste, who has represented France at under-21 level, has joined Steve Kean's side until the end of the Premier League season.
Rovers are still waiting for international clearance to enable Modeste, 23, to be considered for Saturday's match at Everton.
Modeste joined Bordeaux from Nice in the summer of 2010, having impressed in a loan spell with second-tier Angers prior to making the move to Bordeaux.
He struck ten goals in 37 Ligue 1 games in the 2010-11 campaign for Les Girondins and has scored three in 15 appearances during the current season.
"He's an attacking player who very much likes to play on the shoulder of central defenders,'' Rovers boss Kean told the club's TV channel.
"He's got pace, he's got power, and he is technically very good. He can get a goal and he can link the play, so I think he's an exciting player. Like most French players he has got good technical ability and he can play with his head up.
"He knows Steven Nzonzi very well, and Steven can help settle him in. If we can get (the international clearance) done, there is no reason why he can't be involved this weekend.''
